One man from Kirby was killed in a motor vehicle accident after a GMC crossed the center line and hit the motorcycle head-on.

The crash occurred on Missouri 76 around 1:10 p.m. when the 62-year-old motorcyclist was hit and thrown from his bike. The driver of the GMC suffered serious injury and was transported to the hospital, and the motorcycle driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 36-year-old driver was driving east when she ran off the side of the road into a mailbox and then swerved across the lanes into oncoming traffic. Her vehicle continued to go off the side of the road and she was thrown out as her vehicle flipped.

Motor vehicle accidents can have traumatizing effects on all that are involved. Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of the victim.
