In Kansas City, Mo., a worker died after falling through an opening in
the roof of a building.
Workers from Kieber Roofing were working on the roof of the building that
is being rented out to a manufacturing company. Another worker for the
company said the man who fell was a signal man who directed the crane
operator from the roof of the building. Officials say the accident happend
during a deck change, when the old materials on the roof are stripped
and new ones are put on.
The worker was not wearing a harness, but the workers are not required
to wear a harness unless they are working within six feet of the building
ledge. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration have been investigating
