After the amount of deaths last year due to food safety, the concern has
been raised significantly. The U.S. Senate has passed the S510 Food Safety
Modernization Act on November 30 and has drawn support from party lines.
The goal of the act will prevent contaminated food from being on the market
by bringing into effect multiple new regulations.
The regulations will require new food safety plans to prevent these contaminated
foods from entering the market and will help to raise the confidence of
consumers. The regulations will make it a necessity for grocery stores
to make all of the information on the recalled foods visible.
It is very important to consumers to be able to trust that there food is
safe for them.
