A construction worker doing masonry work at Kansas State University's Bill Snyder Family Stadium fell 100 feet onto asphalt and died on Monday, August 1.
The man was working on the stadium's east side where new restrooms are being put in. According to a K-State new release, witnesses said that a wooden board on the scaffolding gave way and the man fell onto the pedestrian concourse around the stadium's parking lot.
Emergency medical responders arrived on the scene within a minute of the 12:27 p.m. incident. The man, whose name is not being released by campus police pending notification of family members, was dead at the scene.
The man was employed by Five Star Masonry, a subcontractor of Konrath Construction Managers, which is in charge of the renovation project at the stadium.
University officials said the Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the death.
