Two drivers suffered serious injuries Monday night in a crash near Hartville,
according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.
David W. Melcher, whose age was not available, from Anderson, S.C., was
flown to St. John's Hospital after the 9:30 p.m. crash on Missouri
5 four miles south of Hartville. Ben H. Arnall, 88, of Hartville, also
was flown to the Springfield hospital.
Two passengers in Arnall's car, Ike G. Moore, 58, and Patsy A. Moore,
52, both of Hartville, were taken to the hospital by ambulance with moderate injuries.
The crash occurred when Melcher's southbound 1995 Jeep crossed the
center line and collided head-on with Arnall's 2007 Buick, according
to the patrol.
