Seneca police were responding to reports yesterday of an accident on Missouri 43 south of Seneca when a 1998 Oldmosbile Bravada that had slowed down to avoid the first accident was struck by a 1990 Mazda Protege.
The Protege was forced off the road and crashed into a Seneca police patrol car, while the Bravada was pushed across the center line and collided with a 2004 Dodge Ram pickup truck.
The 25-year-old driver of the Protege sustained serious injuries, while his 15-year-old and 27-year-old passengers suffered moderate injuries. According to police, no one in the car was wearing a seatbelt.
Seat belts were worn by both the 17-year-old driver of the Bravada and his 15-year-old passenger, both of whom sustatined minor injuries.
The patrol car and pickup truck took minor damage while the Bravada and Protege were both completely totaled.
