SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — An accident at the Paul Mueller Company factory near downtown Springfield killed a newly hired worker on Thursday morning.  A news release from the company said William “Cole” Hambelton died just before 9 a.m.

Springfield Police officers, paramedics, and the fire department were called to the loading dock area after a semi truck was backing up to hook onto a trailer and the driver didn’t see Hambelton. 

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and closest co-workers,” Mueller president David Moore said in a news release.
