12-year-old struck and killed by vehicle

A 12-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle last week and later succumbed to the injuries sustained in the accident.

The accident has occurred in Hannibal on Munger Lane when the driver of the car was heading northbound. There was heavy rainfall when the accident occurred which may have attributed to the accident.

The 12-year-old boy was stuck by the vehicle and was transported to Hannibal Regional Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The 18-year-old driver of the car was also transported to the hospital. The Missouri State Highway Patrol has been called in to help assist in the investigation.

Pedestrian accidents can occur unexpectedly and change the lives of many, our thoughts are with the friends and family of the victim.

Pedestrian killed in accident on I-70

A teenager was killed in a pedestrian accident on I-70 on July 15.

A witness told officials that the teenager was attempting to cross the interstate with a friend after leaving Circle K when the 18-year-old was struck by multiple vehicles.

The friend wasn’t hurt, but the teen was pronounced dead at the scene. Only one of the vehicles stopped to talk to police, the 23-year-old driver was not ticketed after the incident. The accident caused the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 to be shut down while police investigated.

Pedestrian accidents can cause serious injury to anyone involved, our thoughts are with the friends and family of the victim.
