A man from Springfield was killed in a car accident in Region 8 last week.
The accident occurred on U.S. Highway 63 as the man was driving and his car went off of the right side of the road for unknown reasons. The car then flipped over and rolled into a group of trees before hitting a fence and coming to a stop.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency crews after he was ejected from the car during the accident. The passenger in the vehicle was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Two are dead and as many as 50 more are injured following a tragic accident involving two school buses, an 18-wheeler semi truck, and an SUV. According to reports, the tragic accident occurred approximately 40 miles from St. Louis, Missouri, and shut down traffic for approximately four hours as rescue workers fought to take control of the situation.
The spokesman for the Missouri Department of Transportation noted that the accident likely occurred at the 250-mile marker on 1-44 at approximately 10:30 in the morning. The buses were conveying 8th-grade members of the St. James school district marching band to a Six Flags amusement park.

Man faces charges after car accident that injured eight and killed one. The man was charged with involuntary manslaughter, drug possession, unlawful use of weapons, and eight counts of second-degree assault.
The 50-year-old caused a three-car accident after striking a passing vehicle. The impact caused the vehicle to strike another vehicle head-on. The driver of the second vehicle was killed.
Three people were injured in the second car and five people in the third vehicle were injured. The accident occurred on Highway 45 near Audrain County Route A.

Four people, including to two children, were injured in a car accident on Highway 33 in Osborn.
A 22-year-old male was driving the car when he saw a northbound truck in the same lane that was attempting to make a turn. The truck then tried to swerve to avoid the car, but the car still struck the truck in the rear.
Both vehicles received extensive damage, but the driver of the truck was not hurt. The four people were transported to the hospital in a private vehicle to be treated for their injuries. Their current conditions are unknown.

Three people were injured inĀ car crash on Missouri 83, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.
A man was driving a 1999 Mazda with two people in his car when his vehicle suddenly veered off the road and struck a highway sign and a utility pole before coming to a stop.
The driver was flown to a hospital in Springfield and his tow passengers ages 51 and 23 suffered non-life threatening injuries. They were both transported to the hospital by ambulance.

A young woman from Lawrence was rushed to the emergency room after a motor vehicle accident in Kansas City, Missouri.
The 18-year-old woman was traveling on County Road 458 when she failed to negotiate a sharp curve which forced her Jetta off the roadway. Her vehicle then rolled multiple times before finally coming to a stop. The woman was ejected from the vehicle.
The woman was transported to a local hospital and then airlifted to a trauma center in Kansas City. She is listed in stable condition. Details into the accident are still being investigated.

A woman from Philadelphia, Missouri was injured in a one-vehicle accident in U.S. 24, two miles east of Moberly.
The woman was driving the vehicle east on the U.S. 24 when the she ran the car off of the road for unknown reasons. The car overturned several times before coming to the a stop.
The driver was thrown from the vehicle and was in serious condition when emergency crews arrived. The 20-year-old was first taken to a local hospital and then transferred by helicopter to the University Hospital in Columbia.

A one-year-old boy was injured in a one-car accident in Morgan County, Miss.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, A 21-year-old was driving westbound on Peach Tree Road when the vehicle traveled off of the left side of a the road and struck a tree causing the car to overturn into the creek. The infant suffered serious injury and a 22-year-old passenger suffered moderate injuries. Both passengers were taken to the hospital by ambulance to be treated for their injuries.

A single-vehicle accident killed a teenage mother in Springfield after she lost control of her vehicle.
Around 3:30 p.m., the teen was driving on Roosevelt Ave. when she lost control of her car and she slammed into several trees. The 17-year-old mother of one was taken to the hospital where she died hours later.
Two passengers in the car were also injured, one remains in critical condition, while the other is currently stable. Police have still not released the cause of the crash.

A man was driving on Interstate 44 when he crashed into a Missouri Department of Transportation dump truck and spun into the path of a tractor trailer.
The man was driving in the westbound lanes of the interstate when he crashed into the back of the truck while trying to steer away from it. The semi truck then hit the man’s Oldsmobile on the driver’s side. The 61-year-old driver was killed and a passenger in the car was injured. No other people were injured in the accident.
