Board of Chiropractic Examiners Negligence leads to $6,280,000 Award
$6,280,000.00 Settlement – Gross negligence on the part of Missouri board of chiropractic examiners results in $6.28M verdict
Members of the Missouri board of chiropractic examiners, were required to pay a $ 6.28 Million verdict in Cole County, Missouri, for their gross negligence in failing to conduct a thorough, impartial investigation of a consumer complaint before the board filed public accusations.
The board defendants failed to conduct an investigation by refusing to speak with Edwards, failing to obtain his chiropractic records for the patient, failing to obtain relevant medical records, failing to contact other important fact witnesses, and failing to obtain and consider other relevant evidence, before filing public accusations they knew would ruin him professionally. The board defendants then sent copies of the formal accusations to health insurance carriers, taking Edwards out of network for many of his patients and costing him his practice.
