The Missouri Highway Patrol continues to investigate an accident that occurred between a car and a train that left one person dead.
The accident occurred on Friday at 5 a.m. at the railroad tracks that cross over U Highway when the train hit the vehicle as it crossed.
The train conductor was unaware that he had hit a vehicle and pushed the train across the tracks for nearly 55 miles. The driver was killed as a result of the accident. The train finally stopped at West 216th Street and Hunter Lane. Missouri Highway Patrol has not released any other details at this time.
