Senate Passes New Food Safety Act

After the amount of deaths last year due to food safety, the concern has been raised significantly. The U.S. Senate has passed the S510 Food Safety Modernization Act on November 30 and has drawn support from party lines.

The goal of the act will prevent contaminated food from being on the market by bringing into effect multiple new regulations.

The regulations will require new food safety plans to prevent these contaminated foods from entering the market and will help to raise the confidence of consumers. The regulations will make it a necessity for grocery stores to make all of the information on the recalled foods visible.

It is very important to consumers to be able to trust that there food is safe for them.
