The Associated Press reported New Mexico based company Sunland Inc., the same company linked to recent salmonella outbreaks in peaunt and almond butters, still continued to distribute the products even after testing showed they were contaminated. On Wednesday the FDA said “that government inspectors found 28 different samples of salmonella in Sunland’s plant.” FDA inspectors found “unclean equipment and uncovered trailers of peanuts outside the facility that were exposed to rain and birds.” 41 salmonella illnesses are linked to Sunland’s products.
