Woman Shot and Car-Jacked On Remote County Road

A woman is shot and her car stolen on a remote county road in Wasola, MO on Wednesday night.

Saketta Bryce-Satterfield was just getting home from work when she was approached by a man who had been walking. She had gotten out of the car to open a gate to her driveway. She stated that after she got out and opened the gate, she turned around and he was standing right in front of her.

He apologized to her, shot her and she started running to the yard screaming for help.

Her husband called for help and she was treated in a Springfield hospital for a gun shot to the hip.

She later identified a man that authorities had been looking for, James A. Porterfield, as the shooter. Porterfield abandoned Sucketta’s car and stole another before he was arrested.

Porterfield is now charged with felony assault, armed criminal action, felony robbery and an unlawful possession of a firearm.
